And I'm giving away a book I am recommending!
I think I make one of these lists about once a year. So, here is mine. I have listed recommendations based on silly hypothetical descriptions of what kind of reader you think you are. Hope some resonate! 😄

Your Author Recommendation List Based on Your Reader Persona
The Sweet Menace
You’re all about small-town Romance and cupcakes, the kind of combo that makes people think you’re the sweet, wholesome type. But the truth? You work out religiously, not for the gains… but to prep for an imaginary chase through the woods that ends with you getting thoroughly, ahem, wrecked.

The Danger-Adjacent Babe
You’re a sucker for a mystery subplot, the kind with danger lurking just out of sight and a thrill that keeps you turning pages at 2 a.m. Witches? Hell yeah. You’ve probably already got a shelf full of witchy romances. And tentacles? Look, you’re not saying you’re into it... but you’re definitely not scrolling past it, either.

The Literary Convert
You like to explore new genres by starting with the classics. Homer, Poe, Shakespeare… your shelves are a shrine to literary heavyweights and your gateway to Romance? Probably Pride and Prejudice. Totally valid. Same here. But now you’ve wandered into my corner of the Internet... So, where do you begin? Ruby Dixon, dear heart. Always Ruby Dixon.

The Thoughtful Deviant
For the love of Jane Austen, you need a Monster Romance rec that isn’t Ruby Dixon. You still want aliens, imaginative anatomy, and absolutely no compromise on storytelling. Just because it’s smut doesn’t mean the world-building gets a free pass. In fact, you live for stories with themes that make a statement about this world, too. You’re on the hunt for an author who’s not just writing heat but a whole damn thesis. A true Renaissance woman.

The Not-So-Gentle Reader
You’re many things—but “vanilla” isn’t one of them. Maybe your bookmark doubles as a leather paddle. You’re on the lookout for authors with deep, delicious backlists that spark new fantasies or inspire additions to your growing to-do list. And when you pick up a Historical Romance, that’s all sugar and sighs? You roll your eyes. Where’s the sin? Where’s the sweat?

The Tension Junkie
Jurassic Park? Peak storytelling. You’re not here for a light thrill. You want to genuinely wonder who’s going to live, who’s going to die, and what it’s going to cost. Sure, happily ever afters are part of the Romance deal. But that doesn’t mean the story should baby you. You want your heart racing and your nerves shredded... right up until the final kiss.

The Dark Devourer
Your bookshelf is as dark as it is spicy. You’ve absolutely wondered what orcs would look like reimagined through the feminine gaze. A bit of violence? Sounds thrilling. The phrase grovel porn? Music to your ears. Some people think you’re too tough for Romance, but honestly, your reading life is your sanctuary, a place to process the chaos, rage, and heartbreak of real life through fantasy that knows no limits.

I just read Orc Bought by Alisyn Fae and loved it!! Highly recommend if you're looking for an older FMC and a single mom storyline. It rides the line between dark and sweet, too, in a really nice way.
A more out-there rec by Kathryn Moon is Good Deeds- a why choose AndroidxMonster romance that is sweet, funny, spicy, and one of my all-time favorites!!!
Also, for a shameless plug, I have a Kraken romance coming out on Thursday, March 27th that is dark and spicy and wild! The Kraken's Castaway by Cassandra Medcalf <3
For my fellow thoughtful deviant babes—the darker CM Nascosta books are perfect. Thinking The Minoan Bride, The Filled Vessel, Shadows & Light, and all the Wheel of the Year books. They’ve got juicy deep plots to go with the other juicy deep stuff 👹
