Stories like Entranced by the Basilisks by Lillian Lark cement my view that triangles are out and triads are in. Choose all the hot suitors. Get all the hot sex.
I didn’t want to put this book down. I became addicted to how Lark laid out crumbs of anticipation about the full understanding of the FMC’s predicament and the complex dynamics of the world she fell into. I lost sleep, did chores, and cooked dinner just to keep listening to the audiobook even if I wasn’t reading the book as well.
Actually, I would have enjoyed more lore in this book. I’m really hoping for deeper world building in the upcoming Bathhouse books. I ate this Medusa folklore remix like candy. Like so she is the snake kin’s goddess? Are you born a gorgon? Am I using the right word for this world? Are their more like her? Can we meet them? That is pretty good when my complaint is “I want more!”
I fully admit that this reviewer is a sucker for world building. So take the above with that in mind.
I would also like to add that I enjoyed Lark’s exploration of anxiety with the FMC. She includes how some folks with anxiety disorders can have an elaborate internal monologue, which felt familiar and validating to this anxiety sufferer.

Ensnared by the Werewolf by Lillian Lark is a light hearted novella with some heart wrenching moments that keep things intriguing. Its plot is surprisingly meaty despite the book containing less than 100 pages.
This story stands strongest when read after Deceived by the Gargoyles and alongside Found by the Lake Monster. They are all definitely three different stories. Found and Ensnared are a duet of stories that I think complete each another.
