I am ultimately a Monster Romance Reviewer and must be true to myself. So! If you had to choose…
Team Tentacles, my first love
Ultimate writerly goal
NYT bestseller, Netflix adaptation, cult fandom? Dream big!
Oh just being able to afford travel would be cool.

Coffee and carbs
Your soundtrack while working
Lofi Girl? Ambiance jazz? Your neighbors arguing?
Lately it’s been a white noise machine most of the time, but though I’ll also listen to mellow instrumental jazz sometimes too.

Inside the Author's Mind
Do you prefer writing scary, swoony, or sassy characters?
Maybe a delicious mix of all three?
There’s usually at least one with a smart mouth and somebody being sweet.
What's the most interesting or surprising character you've written about?
Readers love the new and—ahem!—novel!
I think Bigfoot surprises people but I think the Minotaur surprised me. Moo? Hmm, could be love.
What's one trope or motif you love to play with or reinvent?
You just keep coming back to it.
I don’t know if it’s a trope, but I like having the human half of the future couple having no idea that monsters, etc. exist and getting to explore that with them.
Who would play one of your favorite MCs in a movie adaptation?
Casting couch moment!
I’m so out of touch that the only person I can think of is Pedro Pascal. He might be a good candidate for playing Logan in KNOTTED BY THE WOLF PRINCE.
Behind the Pen
What's your origin story?
A vision? A weird DM? What brought you to the community?
I read a book with a tentacled monster that claimed to be a romance and absolutely was not. Thought to myself that I could totally write a better story. I then wrote THE SEA MONSTER’S MATE and made it full of consent, love, and babies.
What's the biggest challenge of writing Indie Romance?
Give your fellow readers and authors some behind-the-scenes insight.
The challenge is after the writing is done and now I have to make people want to buy the book. Everything is on me and that’s really hard sometimes
What do you hope readers take away from your stories?
Besides a desire to buy more of your books!
A warm little nugget of happiness 🥰
The most rewarding part of working in the indie romance niche?
What makes this world special to you as an author?
Connecting with other authors going through the same struggles and with readers who love these stories just like me.
What was your first Romance writing piece, and what do you remember most about working on it?
Every writer has their big break moment. What made this one unforgettable?
I think I was 12 when I wrote a story about a rich girl who gets kidnapped for ransom and falls for one of her kidnappers. My English teacher at the time took me through a round of edits that taught me my first lesson in cultivating a thick skin.
Any advice for wishful Indie Romance authors?
What wisdom has served you the best so far?
If you have to force yourself to write it, stop. Writing a story should be fun, not work. The second it gets painful, it’s not worth continuing because readers will be able to tell that your heart wasn’t in it. Write what brings you joy
