Team claws, team horns, or team tentacles?
I am ultimately a Monster Romance Reviewer and must be true to myself. So! If you had to choose…
Team all of the above 😆 I’m a selfish girl and refuse to choose
Ultimate writerly goal
NYT bestseller, Netflix adaptation, cult fandom? Dream big!
My biggest dream is to be out in public and overhear someone talking about one of my books with a friend. That would be an ultimate pinch me moment.
Favorite work fuel
Coffee? Tea? Unicorn blood?
My body is fueled by iced tea and the tears of men
Your soundtrack while working
Lofi Girl? Ambiance jazz? Your neighbors arguing?
I make a playlist for each book that captures the vibe I’m going for. Her Sweet Orc’s playlist was loaded with 2000s emo music, Taylor Swift, and Dolly Parton
Go-to writing tool/software
Tell us your tools of your trade.
I’m in love with my Freewrite Traveler. It’s a drafting tool that makes it possible for me to focus on writing without getting distracted by other things like I do on a laptop.
Go-to comfort read
When all else fails, this is your standby.
Anything by Hazel Mack!
Inside the Author's Mind
Do you prefer writing scary, swoony, or sassy characters?
Maybe a delicious mix of all three?
Fierce, sassy, and sarcastic characters are my jam. There is nothing better than a female character that is unapologetically themselves, loud, and knows how to wield their their wit.
What's the most interesting or surprising character you've written about?
Readers love the new and—ahem!—novel!
Rue from Her Sweet Orc surprised me the most. Her larger than life personality was meant to be more reserved, but she wouldn’t let that happen (which I love)
What's one trope or motif you love to play with or reinvent?
You just keep coming back to it.
I’m a sucker for fated mates each and every time. There’s something magical about there being someone (or multiple someone’s) out there that is meant for you
Who would play one of your favorite MCs in a movie adaptation?
Casting couch moment!
My dream would be for Henry Cavil to play Ulgan🤩
Behind the Pen
What's your origin story?
A vision? A weird DM? What brought you to the community?
I’ve been reading romances since I was in middle school. Thank you Mom for leaving your romance novels lying around the house, lol. The genre has always been my go-to. Monster romances sucked me in instantly and never let me go.
What's the biggest challenge of writing Indie Romance?
Give your fellow readers and authors some behind-the-scenes insight.
Imposter syndrome can make it difficult to Lee going, but it’s so important that you don’t. Surround yourself with people that support you and push you to be your best
What do you hope readers take away from your stories?
Besides a desire to buy more of your books!
I want my readers to feel seen and for them to see themselves in the characters that I write
The most rewarding part of working in the indie romance niche?
What makes this world special to you as an author?
I will forever be grateful for the indie romance world. It’s brought me so many incredible friendships and experiences that have truly saved me.
What was your first Romance writing piece, and what do you remember most about working on it?
Every writer has their big break moment. What made this one unforgettable?
I wrote my first romance short story in high school. It was for a creative writing class and I remember how natural it felt to be writing in that genre.
Any advice for wishful Indie Romance authors?
What wisdom has served you the best so far?

What do you want to plug for folks right now?
Here's a soap box. Get on it!
I ventured into the contemporary romance genre with my latest release Flames & Honey. I’m so proud of how it came together. I’m also excited to start teasing Her Charming Elf soon!!
