C. M. Nascosta has written a love letter to her readers through Blue Ribbon Romance. It is a fun little compliment to Morning Glory Milking Farm. That book has converted so many readers from cheeky explorers reading this stuff ironically to fully certified monster lovers.
I hesitate to recommend this book to newbies to Nascosta’s Cambric Creek Universe. I would strongly recommend reading Morning Glory Milking Farm first. Additional characters will be familiar to those who have read even more books like Girls Weekend. This makes sense though. Blue Ribbon is crafted with those veteran fans in mind.
Those who have read other Nascosta works will be delighted with this cozy romance. If Violet feels like a mess, Rourke is a mess. He is a soft cinnamon roll who wears a tailored suit because the Minotaur is a total brunch daddy. Yet, he has no idea how to get a hold of his love life and commit to personal growth outside of work. His journey makes for a completely different story blanketing a familiar plot. It is a tough balancing act and this author pulled it off.

I want to say Servant of the Spidae is the spiciest book I’ve read by Ruby Dixon and yet it feels quiet and cozy. Its tight casting, singular setting, and intriguing story questions would make this a sexy idea for a play.
I have loved the Aspect and Anchor series and found this to be a good companion story to follow along with the other Aspect and Anchor series. There may be better books for a newbie to this series. I would recommend reading Bound to the Battle God first at the very least before jumping into this one. This is quite common in Dixon works though. There are a few recommended books for jumping in for most of her series. This probably isn’t one.
