This post is one I didn’t realise I needed. I adore the book art in the monster loving community and there’s many a time that I pick a book based on the cover alone. If the author has such good taste the book must be worth a try right?
Also THANK YOU for sharing the link to Anna Moshak's store. I have been saying for years that I want an actual art print of The Dragon's Bride cover because it is so beautiful. It turns out I can! <3
Glad to do so! I'm experimenting with the affiliate link thing, but my inner trained librarian still demands I also add useful links for people to dive deeper for the sake of learning.
I am absolutely obsessed with the Pulp Art Revival look. I think it's a really lovely ode to the history of romance publishing. In general I am just really loving the cover styles of monster romance lately. It's like you're not just buying a book, you're also buying a piece of display artwork.
I'm currently reading The Rake, and your use of a footnote totally messed me up. I tried clicking on the footnote number 3 times before it dawned on me that I was reading on Substack and not my Kindle. 🤦😂

Thank you! And absolutely!

We live in a time where "shelf trophy" is a legit phrase XD So it should look good!

Kass O'Shire has made me never look at footnotes the same way again.
