Question for you. Is orcs and knotting a normal thing? I typically haven't seen that with orcs, or in orc stories. Piercings yes. Figured it might be a good question to ask you since you've read several orc books in a row.
It is a good question! Orcs and knotting is not typical but has come up in some new series in 2022. I don’t know if this is a developing convention or just some fun experimenting. For Lark, it makes the most sense to me. Her MMC is half orc whose knotting comes from his human genes. Humans are capable of knotting as an omegaverse world convention. So, we have an orc with a knot. The others? I’m not sure but also not complaining.
Good to know! I was wondering if it was an omegaverse/ABO cross over into the monster genre. And that's pretty varied as well. I have orc brothers in my second Saint George book. They are supposed to get a short story later. Originally I had them has half-orcs and then did some more digging around orc origins and decided to change up the origins of orcs a little in my world building. Piercings are still a thing though - and part of the orc mystic :)
