A Prince in Disguise
A Marriage of Convenience

Political Intrigue Everywhere
Aphrodisiac Mishap
Whenever I wonder how Ruby Dixon can expand her Sci-Fi universe and freshen it up for veteran readers like myself, she gives me stuff like When She’s Common. This book is a universe expansion on top of being a heart-warming journey. That is even considering the death threats!
Political intrigue is present throughout this plot. Those already familiar with stories like When She Purrs know how hierarchical and prejudiced Praxiian society can be. If that intrigued you (like it did me), this book throws you deeper into that mess. We even get to meet the head of the mess.
I know Dixon did right by the MMC because I did not like the guy from the start! I was sincerely at a loss how I was supposed to like him by the end. That’s what you want. The romance interests have to be likable by the end of the Romance. Darn it, Dixon did it. She made me like the guy.
This is why I am a sucker for Dixon’s storytelling. Her characters’ development is the main engine for her plots.

This review of Jumping the Shark by Ash Raven goes out to my fellow plump girlies who are tired of a capitalist hellscape and want to live the rest of their lives in comfort on a beach with someone who cares about them. I need help thinking of a smuttier, low-stakes book to take on your next beach trip.
The p*rn to plot makes me feel like I would call this romantic erotica rather than erotic romance. This is not a critique! I think that ratio helps keep the story low-stakes. It may also be exactly what my fellow readers are looking for, so here’s your sign to get this!
I do admit that I would have loved Odette to have gotten more for her character journey. That is my preference as a single reader, thinking Ma’xon grew more. She still went on a journey, though! Going from sexually and emotionally unsatisfied and unfulfilled to filled in every sense of the word is a journey in itself!
