I confess I'm right there with you. For some reason, I hear urban fantasy and I imagine every other scene has to be in an alley or public transit

Yes paranormal romance is hard because it has most elements of contemporary fantasy, but doesnโ€™t always make the fantasy elements as part of the focus

I was honestly confused by the difference between sci-fi and fantasy in a monster romance context because book services don't even know what genre to place books in.

I absolutely love Ruby Dixon. I have yet to find a monster romance writer that lives up to her. But of course that wonโ€™t stop me from trying.

Ruby Dixon is such a solid story crafter and that is why I read so much of her stuff. I want to absorb how she builds a plot.
