Honestly sometimes I'm not super sure of the difference between paranormal romance and urban fantasy with romance...
I confess I'm right there with you. For some reason, I hear urban fantasy and I imagine every other scene has to be in an alley or public transit
Yes paranormal romance is hard because it has most elements of contemporary fantasy, but doesn’t always make the fantasy elements as part of the focus
I was honestly confused by the difference between sci-fi and fantasy in a monster romance context because book services don't even know what genre to place books in.
Crazy! They need a librarian in there (not biased with my own MSLIS ;P )
I absolutely love Ruby Dixon. I have yet to find a monster romance writer that lives up to her. But of course that won’t stop me from trying.

Ice Planet Barbarians is such a fun series. I gotta do a re-read of that one soon. Adding Her Soul to Take to my TBR!
Ruby Dixon is such a solid story crafter and that is why I read so much of her stuff. I want to absorb how she builds a plot.
